1 Peter - Exiles

Peter opens his letter by reminding believers that they are “elect exiles”—chosen by the Father and sanctified by the Spirit for obedience to Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:1-2). That means the Christian life was never meant to be passive. We aren’t just waiting for heaven while we coast through life. The Spirit is actively transforming us, shaping us into the image of Christ as we live faithfully in a world that is not our home.
